Salary:
This position in schedule-range 07-33 with a starting salary of $34 - $44 per hour (or $70,720 - $91,520 annually) depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12 month probationary period is required. Pay for internal candidates will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Join our team of IT professionals as an IS Systems Development Services Specialist providing technical leadership and coordination in development of data visualizations using Tableau Software! Applicants with a solid understanding of data warehousing (DW), business intelligence (BI) and data integration project deliverables, data analysis in SQL, and Tableau software are encouraged to apply.

This full time permanent position is located within the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Division of Business Management, Department of Transportation headquartered at the new Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison. Position Summary:

This position provides technical leadership and advanced technical support, analysis and design for BI and DW solutions that support data-driven decisions and enhance business processes. This position develops, tests, implements and supports complex data visualizations, dashboards and analytics using Tableau software. This includes tasks such as consulting with customers; demonstrating Tableau solutions; gathering business requirements; working with project leaders, developers, and business experts on project team; performing data analyses; building data visualization dashboards using Tableau, and participating in feedback sessions to improve systems.

Qualifications:

    Minimally qualified candidates must have experience in all of the following:

  • Developing visualizations using Tableau software that interprets underlying data to tell the story
  • Developing technical solutions for data visualizations/dashboards/reports (i.e. gathering, documenting, understanding, translating requirements into technical solutions, etc.)
  • Utilizing Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, Data integration concepts/architecture
  • Performing data analysis using SQL scripts (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
