The Business Analytics Consultant Sr. will work closely with internal clients to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Leads the collection and interpretation of business requirements. Sources appropriate data, applies analytical method(s), interprets the resulting information and then constructs an understandable visual representation in the analysis.
Serves as a subject matter expert of AMG (Asset Management Group) investment product data. Understands complex business rules and is able to combine investment officers, managers, geographies & hierarchies, and investment product usage to provide insights for business leaders in a repeatable and highly available reporting environment.
Responsible for designing, developing and implementing various information related deliverables including Tableau dashboards and self-service analytical tools.
Owns the production and maintenance of metrics reporting and dashboards for stakeholders.
Owns end-to-end life-cycle for deliverables including requirements gathering, technical development, refinement, adoption and maintenance.
Adds value from outset through technical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Self-motivated and eager to continually improve skill set and learn new technologies.
Informs and influences future priorities and initiatives.
Requirements:
• BA/BS in a STEM or Business related degree plus 3 years of related experience.
•Analytical aptitude, curiosity, and critical thinking.
• Experience using multiple data sources and programming language (Oracle, SQL, Java, Excel/VBA, CSV, Hadoop, SQLite, Microsoft Azure, MS Access) a plus.
• Ability to automate and maintain data transformation pipelines (Tableau Prep, Python, Windows Scheduler, Oozie) a plus.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing Tableau dashboards.
• Demonstrated understanding of advanced tableau features for use in embedded analytic tools and custom portal.
• Interest in investment products; including design, application, and usage.
• Knowledge of AMG systems, including AmTrust, Vestmark, and Managed Account Workflow is a plus.
