About The Team
The Tesco Mobile DevOps team is a truly cross functional team responsible for product development as well as the day-to-day run and operate of multiple bespoke IT solutions.
Your Role
As a DevOps Engineer in the DevOps team, you'll join a team that is responsible for supporting 24x7 production environments. You will be fixing issues, as well developing new features on our Salesforce plaform. You will be a certified Salesforce Platform Developer with with demonstrable experience of supporting a Saleforce platform. You will be part of a wider team of Business Analysts, Testers and developers working on different technologies to support business projects.
You will have experience working with SCRUM and Kanban Agile methodologies to maintain and create new software.

Regular travel to Tesco Mobile sites including (but not limited to) Slough, Bury, Leeds

About The Team

Responsibilities
- Support business cirtical systems. Investigate and fix incidents and problems. Maintain and evolve Tesco Mobile Salesforce Platform
- Provide 24x7 on call cover as required on a rota basis
- Maintain and evolve DevOps monitoring and alerting capabilities – includes infrastructure performance as well as key business metrics
- Utilise TM loggin tools (Splunk/ELK) to investigate operationanal issue, configure dashboards and alerts
- Work closely with Information Security to ensure we keep our platforms secure
- Engage with business analysts, developers and testers to ensure hotfixes are safely released into production, this covers new functionality as well as security patching
- Support the development of new products, tranisitioning them into live production use.
- Coordinate and manage software releases in to Pe-Production & Production environments. Includes support for out of hours production deployments
- Automate repetitive tasks, developing innovative solutions for the team and wider business e.g. bots and cronjobs
- Experience supporting a 24x7 production environments
- Proven proffessional development experience using Salesforce platform in a medium - large organisation
- Expertise in Salesforce development languages eg APEX, Lightening, Visualforce
- Salesforce Platform Developer certifications are essential
- Good knowledge of log data management technologies. Splunk / ELK desribale
- Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate and work as a team player
- Ability to understand complex systems and issues and communicate these to both technical and non-technical people.
- Good understanding of Agile Development practices
- Good knowledge of GIT/Github Tools
- Good knowledge of IT Service Management principles
- Good undersanding of Information Security and related good practise
- Proficient in other scripting languages and programming languages eg PHP, Python, Java, GoLang, SQL, HTML
- An understanding of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of basic TCP/IP protocols (TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, HTTP)
