Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer, Salesforce - is a key part of a team delivering the most creative, sophisticated, and challenging applications on the Force.com platform. You will be a critical part of a SCRUM project team responsible for owning and executing delivery of custom Salesforce solutions that are uniquely tailored to support eMoney’s back office platform. This role will interact closely with a product management team, and other Salesforce professionals (analysts, developers, QA/Testers). The DevOps Engineer is ultimately responsible for the deployment of all software releases, the care and maintenance of all Salesforce environments (sandboxes) as well as executing on the CIBTD (Continuous Integration, Build, Test & Deployment) framework employed at eMoney. This role may also be responsible for environment management of other tools/systems that are used/deployed by the Internal Systems team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with developers and the Senior Development Manager to ensure that SCRUM teams are carefully planning, testing and releasing software in a manner which supports test automation, deployment automation and a regular deployment cadence.
  • Lead, advocate and enforce solid CIBTD (Continuous Integration, Build, Test & Deployment) best practices within our Salesforce environment.
  • Configure & maintain the automated CI tool used by our SCRUM teams
  • Be the owner for all automated and non-automated deployment procedures/activities which are part of our Salesforce environments and any other connecting systems.
  • Manage all Salesforce sandboxes (new and existing), carefully plan environment refreshes and manage all Salesforce access inside eMoney thru our SSO platform.
  • Regularly maintain and update archived branches of all Salesforce environments.
  • Understand at a high level (connections and dependcies), all platforms and systems which are used/supported by Internal Systems
  • Work with other SCRUM teams to carefully manage environment dependencies and platform release schedules which touch or are impacted by eMoney’s Salesforce platform.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field required
  • 5 years of cumulative and progressive experience in any of the following areas: {desktop support, MIS engineering, release management, software version control, database administration, software development }
  • Salesforce.com ADM201 Certification AND Salesforce.com DEV401 Certification (or newer equivalents) strongly recommended
  • 3-5 years’ experience administering or managing deployments on the Force.com platform (Enterprise edition or higher), preferably in a large multi-dimensional organization.

Skills

  • Prior experience in working with or on a development team
  • Proven experience deploying custom code and configurations across a Salesforce platform ecosystem (production and sandboxes)
  • Deep understanding of tools and best practices for Continuous Integration, Build, Test & Deployment [Ant/Git/SourceTree/TeamCity/Jenkins]
  • Deep understanding of the Salesforce Meta Data API and Salesforce release management techniques
  • Proven knowledge of the software and systems development life cycle; experience with enterprise-level integrations involving business-critical systems
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent writing skills with ability to express strategy, technical knowledge and processes in an easily understood presentation
