Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Software/ Application Test Manager to join our team. As a Test Manager you will oversee, organise and facilitate a variety of test activities for as part of a fast-paced and challenging IT transformation program. The successful candidate will start this role at a time of significant change at IRIS.

This role is key to the successful operation and future growth of IRIS and gives the right candidate a real chance to develop their test support skillset as well as make a real difference to the business. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a problem-solver and have strong test/ stakeholder/ project management and communication skills.

You must be willing to travel and stay away from home when required.

Role responsibilities

Plan for, manage and oversee test activities for the program
Identify and resolve inefficiencies in the program’s test regime/ model.
Guide workstreams with preparing for UAT with writing test scripts and facilitation/ organization of sessions
Manage the unit and regression testing of the software
Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and our System Integration Partners to ensure testing is being carried out effectively.
Support BA’s with testing the business process flow(s) and evidencing this testing and end-to-end system health.
Execute and support Different phases of testing (Integration, Acceptance Testing)
Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies and carry out root-cause-analysis on defects/ bugs found with support from wider team
Support the organization and facilitation of Test Entry/ Exit gates
Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle, as well as evolve business test practice to ensure efficient and effective
Support the build of a variety of test documents/ artefacts.
Manage multiple parallel test workstreams across concurrent delivery phases.
Identify risks and issues relating to test output and escalate to the Programme team/ leadership.
Support the data migration team in identifying and logging data migration issues that have surfaced in testing.
Advise, design, and assist with the development automation scripts when needed, with support from the BAU team.
Manage the handover of test activities to the BAU IT team.
