Seeking experienced IT Managers in the Chicago, IL area! Looking specifically for those with hands-on experience in platform engineering using Salesforce Commerce Cloud for implementing eCommerce-based applications. This will be full-time, direct-hire position with a large Fortune-500 client of ours, and offering between $140,000-$150,000/yr +benefits (salary has flexibility depending on amount of experience and skillset). Candidates must either be local or commutable to the Chicago area for consideration. U.S. Citizens and all those authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. Position Overview:

The Head of Marketing Platform for CEP is a technology leader who will be responsible for delivering a global Consumer Engagement Platform (CEP) that seamlessly integrates with other marketing platforms in line with the global digital platform vision. This person has the key responsibility for the CEP technical stack built around Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and for advancing the product forward. The right person for this role is proactive with stakeholders, a self-starter who can work under broad direction, and passionate about delivering world-class digital products that enable the business to optimize operations and maximize value.

Scope/Categories:  

Internal Interfaces: Marketing Leadership, Regional / Global Digital Marketers, Brand Managers, Marketing Directors, Product Managers, Business Partners and Other technology teams (infrastructure, Security).

External Interfaces: Consultants, Partners, 3rd Party Integration Providers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engineering and delivery of the global consumer engagement platform (CEP) and its subsequent rollout to different markets. Will deliver CEP initiatives in accordance with business and IT priorities and annual budgets by building the team with appropriate engineering and delivery talent.
  • Ensure the engineering team complies with our company's software development standards including security standards.
  • Advance DevOps practices and promote good engineering culture.
  • Engage with delivery partners, negotiate proposals and facilitate delivery of high-quality solutions in alignment with the global platform vision.
  • Responsible for establishing day-to-day operational support for the systems that are part of the global platform and take care of change, incident, problem and configuration management
  • Understand and influence the global digital platform vision by representing the regional business needs.
  • Enable staff with the needed functional and technical skills required to meet our growing application portfolio and changing technology needs.
  • Help develop leaders through real time coaching and mentoring
  • Maintains and evolves cultural awareness; acts with global fluency. Adopts a test and learn, fail fast mindset with calculated risk taking.
  • Demonstrates deep learning agility and promotes a learning culture. Acts and influences as a people leader across the organization. Takes personal accountability for self-development, while building and developing talent around them.
  • Acts as a disruptive change agent fluidly moving back and forth between transformation initiatives and day-to-day business as usual.
  • Provides Business Technology thought leadership, bringing knowledge and solutions to drive business outcomes. Thinks ‘digital’ and embraces next generation ways of doing work.
  • Leads others to complete Continuous Improvements (CI) initiatives; consults and shares knowledge across organization.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Similar
  • 7-10+ years of experience in implementing eCommerce applications using Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and/or Demandware or another eCommerce engine is required.
  • Must have experience implementing and actually using Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC)
  • Experience working in an eCommerce environment prior to using the SFCC
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering management experience, building and grooming top-notch engineering talent and implementing good SDLC/DevOps practices including CI/CD, TDD etc.
  • Must have SDLC and cloud providers/cloud knowledge
  • Ability to lead senior architects and engineers is required.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming, relational databases and cloud experience are expected.
  • Coding is NOT required, however, must be able to read and understand it
  • Experience managing delivery partners and systems integrators in enterprise software delivery is a must.
  • Demonstrated skills in engineering leadership, solution architecture, solution delivery, client relationship management, keen sense of urgency in delivering results, business knowledge, intuition and judgment, high cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, effective communication/collaboration.
  • Strong facilitation skills required. Must display vision and resiliency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a virtual team across cultures, time zones and external parties including customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in absorbing complex digital information and communicating effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.
