Who you are: Mavens is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Product team to drive the day-to-day engineering efforts required to deliver a new software-as-a-service product offering targeting the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industries.

The Lead Engineer will report to and collaborate with the Vice President of Products & Vice President of Research & Development to create a high performance engineering team that is able to leverage the capabilities of the Salesforce platform and select 3rd party technologies to drive ongoing innovation.

Ideal candidate will be an individual who takes ownership of a process and accountability for its day to day activities, is able to lead and grow engineering teams, and seeks to work on a diverse range of technologies and processes.

Why this role matters: As the Lead Software Engineer this role will own responsibilities to ensure team, systems, and product decisions and capabilities are best-in-class and in accordance with product, regulatory, and industry requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Vice Presidents of Products & Research and Development to drive technical decisions required to facilitate ongoing development of products
  • Lead a remote engineering team, drive day-to-day engineering efforts, setting best practices including integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement
  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes
  • Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment (with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous deployment)
  • Responsible for developing in Force.com, Lightning, Apex, JavaScript, and other technologies to build customized solutions on top of Force.com
  • Responsible for architecting & developing integrations between Force.com and 3rd party systems
  • Stay up to date on the latest industry standard implementation details regarding Salesforce and relevant technologies
  • Support end to end effort related SDLC Process Management, Safety & Soundness, Governance and application/environment Issue resolution
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met
  • Plan, conduct and monitor product releases
  • Provide Level 3 (application development) support for escalated production incidents orchestrating different teams for issue resolution

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management or equivalent field
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements, designing, and implementing new solutions for application and database components
  • 5 + years of experience working with vendor software, technologies and tools that are enterprise solutions
  • 3+ years of Salesforce development experience using Lightning, apex, Visualforce, triggers, batch Apex and Salesforce APIs
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com Packaging
  • Experience with integrations and knowledge of integration patterns (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.)
  • Experience in version control and continuous delivery systems (such as Git and Jenkins)
  • Understanding and practice or secure application development concepts (OWASP top 10, Threat Modeling, etc.)
  • Participate on an Agile team that solves complex challenges and builds working software
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Bonus Points

  • Experience developing software within the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industries
  • Familiarity with FDA software validation requirements
  • Salesforce architect certifications or equivalent experience
