Job Description

CACI’s Business and Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Sector, is seeking a MuleSoft Architect to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Team supporting the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client. As a member of the BEAGLE Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

As a MuleSoft Architect on a major CBP program, you will assess, define, and implement process and service architectures across a variety of - tactical and critical projects, to large-scale, strategic enterprise programs. You will architect, develop, orchestrate, and deploy complex integration architectures, as well as defining system, process, and experience layers. You will document and assist in implementing MuleSoft based architectures within on-premise, hybrid cloud, and AWS cloud based environments following best practices.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • As part of a team, oversee all phases of the System API development life cycle - including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, transition, and support
  • Apply Design first/API-led connectivity concepts to business initiatives to help organizations achieve their goals
  • Follow good practices and project guidelines in all cases including the use of source code control, automated testing and deployment approaches, and proper documentation practices
  • Perform and/or participate in requirements discovery and design work sessions to determine best practice solution requirements
  • Architect and development MuleSoft applications supporting internal and external communications; intra-service communications. Create reusable Mule flows and complex transformation.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 10 years of hands-on-experience architecting, leading, and delivering solutions related to enterprise integration, APIs, service-oriented architecture
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft ESB and API Management
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria will include:
    • 3-year check for felony convictions
    • 1-year check for illegal drug use
    • 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
  • College degree (B.S., M.S.) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in building, running, testing and monitoring Mule applications using the Anypoint Platform toolset, including Anypoint Studio, Exchange, Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager
  • Strong understanding of underlying Mule Anypoint Platform architecture and experience of server administration and physical deployment
  • Sound understanding of API implementation to build application networks including API Mesh, encryption, logging, scalability, clustering, and securing solutions
  • Ability to design and develop MuleSoft APIs, writing complementary RAML, and formally document architecture and design specifications
  • Experience with a breadth of MuleSoft inbound/outbound connectors, for example: Web Services, File, Database, SAP, Tririga, Salesforce, AWS services, etc.
  • Experience orchestrating complex use cases involving multiple systems, incorporating security, error handling and logging
  • Demonstrable understanding of Web Services (SOAP & REST), XML and JSON formats document schemas, HTTP protocol, and underlying inter-networking concepts
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using GitLab, Jenkins, and/or comparable toolsets
  • Experience with Java and .NET programming languages
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues, software defects, and operations.

One or both MuleSoft Architect Certifications:

  • MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect - Level 1
  • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect - Level 1

These Qualification Would be Nice to Have:

One or more MuleSoft designer/developer certification(s) are preferred:

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer (Mule 4)
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer - API Design Associate (RAML 1.0)
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer - Integration Professional (Mule 3)
