Project SER: To Be Salesforce Specialist VISTA

SER National seeks VISTA members to fortify and expand our service area. VISTA members will be assigned to SER National's headquarters in Irving, TX, and will focus on fundraising and educating the public and private sectors on the value of SER National's services, with a special emphasis on expanding services to our target population and extending our geographic scope. Specific deliverables that VISTA participants include: *Funding. With training and support, VISTA members will raise funds so that SER National may provide additional programming to meet the needs of impoverished communities as well as meet grant match requirements, expanding our total service population. An area of promise is the private sector, including corporations and foundations. Strategies for VISTA members to pursue include grant writing, online fundraising, special events, corporate sponsorships, e-mail/letter campaigns, major and small donor cultivation, and in-kind donations. We need clever, persistent individuals to leverage existing data and resources to realize positive results that can be replicated annually. VISTA members can make a difference in the short-term and establish a replicable model for the long-term. *Marketing. Although SER National has met our performance benchmarks every year, our brand recognition is low. Part of the VISTA members' assignment will be to promote the SER brand so that there is greater awareness of what we do and why it is valuable. A variety of approaches, including social media, traditional media, public events, targeted presentations, and other strategies and tactics will heighten awareness. *Locations. With a growing Hispanic population and numerous pockets of poverty, the need in local Texas communities is increasing. SER National needs more locations in the state so that we may help underserved communities. VISTA members will research resources, develop partners, and identify funding to extend SER National programming to new locations.
