Position: Salesforce AdministratorReports to: Deputy Director FLSA Status: Exempt Category: Full-Time Location: Seattle, WASalary Range: $70,857 to $82,667, DOESUMMARY:Across the state, Washington has more science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and health care jobs than it can fill yet our higher education system cannot keep up with the demand for skilled employees. The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) is a unique, public-private partnership designed to address our talent shortage. WSOS fuels the states economy by providing scholarships and a continuum of support services to high potential students who are pursuing a graduate degree, bachelors degree, associate degree, certificate, or apprenticeship in a high-demand trade, health care or STEM program in Washington state.The Salesforce Administrator will build and support a newly migrated Salesforce instance at a growing nonprofit. As a member of the WSOS team, the Salesforce Administrator will play a key role in developing and administering solutions to ensure a secure constituent database to be used across multiple teams. WSOS constituents and partners include but are not limited to donors and prospects, mentors and promotional partners. Working closely with program managers and the leadership team, the Salesforce Administrator will create systems and processes that are scalable, maintainable and user-friendly. As the in-house expert, the successful candidate will own the engineering, testing, release and support of all applications of Salesforce.The Salesforce Administrator reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for leading the strategy and approach to relationship management across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong Salesforce technical skillset, is a creative problem-solver and can effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues of various technical levels.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead Salesforce CRM design, including both the business analyst function and technical implementationEvaluate complex business and technical requirements, communicating inherent security risks, tradeoffs and solutions to technical and non-technical usersRespond to support requests and escalated administrative needs of users with prompt, simple and complete resolutions that address technical and business challengesManage Salesforce CRM maintenance, including owning security, troubleshooting and data upkeep with weekly, quarterly and annual tasksConfigure new and existing Salesforce features including user management, roles/profiles, permission sets, custom objects, new page layouts, custom fields, formula fields, validations, workflow rules, reports, dashboards and email templatesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience3+ years of experience successfully managing an instance of Salesforce2+ years of experience in the non-profit sectorCertified Salesforce.com Salesforce Administrators strongly preferredCore CompetenciesAble to thoughtfully consider and embrace new ideas and different perspectivesFocuses on accomplishing team goals rather than a personal agendaCommunicates goals, objectives and strategies frequently and aligns them with work and tasksRegularly reflects on challenging situations as opportunities to identify learning opportunities; engages others in reflectionProactively and independently identifies potential challengesAwareness of inequities that exist at multiple levels (personal, interpersonal, organizational and systemic)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of:Capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce Nonprofit Success PackEffective change management practicesSystems of power and oppression and how they impact the lived experience of students of color, first-generation college students and students from low-income familiesSkill in:Salesforce-specific data tools including Data Loader, NPSP Data ImporterDesigning, building and deploying custom applications using the declarative customization capabilities of the Lightning PlatformAnalyzing business needs and applying to functional expertise to create and execute action plans (requirements gathering, creating and deploying solutions to end users)Salesforce tools including: Process Builder, Flows, Lightning Pages, Custom Metadata Types, Custom Settings and Managed PackagesUsing clear, concise written and oral communication to explain complex technical processes to non-technical usersExperience leading a migration from another CRM to Salesforce or implementing Salesforce in a nonprofit space is a plusAbility to:Partner with stakeholders to proactively identify, drive and build system improvements, enhancements and customization to optimize system functionEnsure data accuracy and security across the system with regular quality assurance checks Design and implement Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud solutions that meet business requirementsWork cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and follow through on implementationThrive working independently and under supervision in an energetic, fast-paced team environmentBalance competing priorities in a cross-functional workspaceLICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Valid Washington state drivers license or identification cardComplete a criminal background check absent of offenses impacting ability to perform in the roleReferences will be required of short-listed candidatesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds; regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting and reachingOpen to dialogue about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusivenessHybrid workplace including work-from-home time blended with shared office environment with moderate noise levels from standard office equipmentAbility to perform consistent work on a PC requiredBENEFITS:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth, dental, vision and prescription coverage; long-term disability, short-term disability and life insurancePaid time off (PTO) and holidaysMatching 401(k)HOW TO APPLY:The position will remain open until filled.
