As part of an initiative to drive forward the use of its Salesforce CRM system Aegon has an exciting opportunity for someone who likes working with data/systems, can think analytically and would like to build systems development skills. The role gives access to a fast-paced environment at the cutting edge of a large business and also presents the opportunity to get involved in new initiatives and new technology.
We are looking for
The role of Salesforce Administrator is to provide key support to ensure that the current Salesforce system continues to be a dynamic tool that provides key support throughout the distribution function. Providing both key technical support to the wider Salesforce team and the business users as well as supporting the implementation of larger development projects.
Key Tasks
Competitive salary dependent on experience from £28,600 to £35,750.

We are looking for
- A numerate individual with a keen eye for detail
- Someone who likes working with data and has keen analytical and problem solving skills
- A logical thinker with a technical bent
- Insight : To provide analyses to inform and challenge Sales & Marketing activity. Providing insight to drive strategy in order to retain and grow revenue
- Infrastructure : To ensure Aegon has the core customer and adviser data to facilitate effective marketing and allow clear measurement of the impact of our activities
- Action : To support Aegon's market strategies through enabling the physical execution of both end-customer and adviser focussed campaign activity
The role of Salesforce Administrator is to provide key support to ensure that the current Salesforce system continues to be a dynamic tool that provides key support throughout the distribution function. Providing both key technical support to the wider Salesforce team and the business users as well as supporting the implementation of larger development projects.
Key Tasks
- Managing users and security profiles, roles and permission sets.
- Configuring workflow rules / process builder.
- Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical problems with our Salesforce platform.
- Guiding and advising colleagues by making recommendations on best practices for using Salesforce functionality and approaches.
- Building custom functionality for various key stakeholders throughout the business (containing custom objects, process flows, fields, validation rules, etc.).
- Building key reports and dashboards and ensuring consistency across all business areas and assisting users in getting the most out of the self-service nature of the reporting tools.
- Supporting the conversion to the lightening platform and ensuring the page layouts are optimised to the users’ needs.
- Liaising with Salesforce customer support, raising tickets and following up as and when required.
- Keeping up to date with Salesforce developments, new functionality, and releases.
- Providing support, insight and help to ensure that data quality within the Salesforce instance is kept as up to date and accurate as possible.
- A passion for understanding how things work and finding solutions to complex problems in a simple manner.
- Strong analytical skills.
- The ability to work as part of a fluid team or autonomously, under pressure to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- A confident and professional attitude to work.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and good understanding of value drivers for both life companies and financial advisers.
- Understanding of the core functions within a CRM system and how this supports the business process.
- A good grasp of the dynamics of Sales function within a B2B environment and how this interacts with other areas of a business.
- Exposure to a SaaS CRM tool either as a user or as an administrator.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools – Excel, Word etc.
- Working knowledge of AEGON distribution network and how this interacts with related areas of the business.
- Numeric subject (e.g. Maths / Statistics to Higher / A-Level).
Competitive salary dependent on experience from £28,600 to £35,750.
