Salesforce B2C Back End Developer

The Senior Applications Engineer develops quality software that meets the functional and non-functional project requirements in the implementation, enhancement and support of e-commerce platform centric projects. This includes producing application code on-time, onbudget, and in compliance with DCX Commerce implementation standards & practices as well as general industry & platform-specific best practices.
Senior Application Engineers are helping to solve the most complex tasks on the project. Technical Architects (TA) and Team Leads (TL) will work closely with Senior Application Engineers on developing solutions for the defined tasks.
The Senior Application Engineer is expected to:
- know the e-commerce platform (e.g. Demandware, Magento, hybris etc.), maintain the platform Developer certification, and be an expert in the platform API, management tools and capabilities
- use this knowledge to plan, write and test code to meet the requirements of tasks assigned, based on the technical specification for the task provided by the Technical Architect, Technical Lead or Application Coordinator
- work with the platform technologies and languages, HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- customize the platform's prototype solutions to build fully functioning e-commerce sites on desktop, tablet and mobile devices
- use object oriented techniques to create reusable, easy to maintain code
- all code must conform to platform-specific & industry best practices, the DCX Commerce code standards, and perform well under load.
Back-End focused Senior Application Engineer works more on the business logic, real-time and back office integrations, using platform technology and API to manipulate data, integrate with external services and create jobs for processing data.
Required Skills:
- Expert in developing web applications for the relevant focus (i.e. Front-End or Back-End) and platform (i.e. Demandware, Magento, Hybris etc.)
- Proficient in managing the administration of the relevant platform (i.e. Demandware, Magento, hybris etc.)
- Proficient in using and managing version control through Git – including planning & creating branches and performing merges.
- Proficient in merging JavaScript including relevant libraries.
- Proficient in effectively document complex functionality in code and documentation.
- Ability to follow, enforce and help define development standards.
- Current developer certification in the relevant platform (i.e. Demandware, Magento, or Hybris) or ability to obtain such certification.
- Solid understanding of Object Oriented concepts.
- Solid understanding of the MVC paradigm.
- Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, critical thinking.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written (documentation, code, email, etc.)
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
- Proven track records of meeting and exceeding goals.
- Ability to lead & supervise application development teams.
- Ability to lead effective scrum meetings.

Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.
Required Skills and Experience:
Write software programs using specific programming languages/platforms such as Java or MS .NET, and related tools, platform and environment. Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs, such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment. Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes. Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic. Write or contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users. Correct errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced. Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program. Investigate whether networks, workstations, the central processing unit of the system, and/or peripheral equipment are responding to a program's instructions. Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language. Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer. Consult with and assist computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running computer programs. Perform unit testing Assist in system and user testing Fix errors and bugs that are identified in the course of testing.
- Qualifications: 3 – 7 (2 years min relevant experience in the role) years experience; Bachelor’s degree
- Should be proficient in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management.
- Should have progressing skills on Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
