Brief Summary of Role
The Salesforce Commerce Cloud Technical Architect at Appirio is responsible for supporting the full implementation life-cycle, from scoping to deployment, on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform. The Technical Architect will work closely with the client IT and business stakeholders to design and maintain enterprise-wide solutions. The Technical Architect will work in collaboration with the Solution Strategist/Business Analyst to execute and deliver successful net-new implementations, site enhancements, and regular maintenance/support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural oversight for development on the Commerce Cloud platform
  • Overall planning, organizing, architecting, integrating, and delivery of all services prioritized in alignment with the client's expectations and business needs
  • Participate in project discovery and definition workshops
  • Interpret client requirements, business processes, and use cases to produce quality technical designs
  • Create technical documentation to support designs and requirements
  • Turn client requirements into use cases and tasks with technical specifications
  • Provide guidance to Technical Lead and development team members making sure proper process is followed and client requirements are met
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching regarding the implementation and maintenance of ecommerce solutions based on Commerce Cloud best practices
  • Stay current with the Commerce Cloud platform, releases, and new features & functionality

Education and Required Experience
  • 4-year degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Digital Certified Developer (Full Stack)
  • Certification must be current, or eligible for test out / upgrade voucher
  • Salesforce Certified B2C Technical Solution Designer
  • 4+ years of Commerce Cloud architecture and development experience
  • 4+ years experience in a hands on technical leadership position in consulting organization
  • Experience with front-end development, Pipelines, JS Controllers, Demandware Script, ISML templates, web services, script debugging, troubleshooting, and performance management
  • Proven experience integrating with APIs and 3rd Party systems integrations (SOAP/REST) to payment, OMS, CRM, CMS & WMS systems
  • Experience with SFRA a plus
  • Experience with Commerce Cloud B2B/Cloudcraze a plus
  • Proven track record of driving projects to successful, on-time completion
  • Ability to positively influence and encourage stakeholders and team members
  • Strong technical skills with a proven track record of delivering key technical initiatives and implementing web technologies (client- and service-side)
  • Advanced knowledge of the retail industry and retail solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong (and creative!) problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Ability to travel as required, ~50%
  • Additional ecommerce platform experience a plus (Magento, Hybris, CloudCraze, etc.)
