Purpose of Job

Within LSEG, the Salesforce Data and Integration Architect is responsible for the data architecture associated with the Salesforce instances used within LSEG as well as the integration of the Salesforce instances with other systems.

The role is to provide leadership and governance around the data model, its realisation within Salesforce as well as integration scenarios that enable access to and from it. As M&A activity continues with LSEG, the Data and Integration Architect will be responsible for leading the data work streams associated with Org mergers and integrations.

The Data and Integration Architect will have a broad knowledge of the Salesforce platform, with particular expertise around the management of data structures within Salesforce, APIs and integration technologies, patterns and reporting/analytics.

The Data and Integration Architect will be responsible for:

  • Leading and administering data governance reviews associated with ongoing projects
  • Leading sessions to discuss and augment Salesforce data structures in line with best practice
  • Maintaining the LSEG Salesforce data model and data dictionary (including business and technical data definitions, data lineage and associated meta-data)
  • Understanding how aspects of the data model are classified and utilised within different business areas
  • Ensuring the right integration approaches, technologies and patterns are used
  • Supporting data migration activities as part of any new projects
  • Defining and governing best practice around data quality and cleansing where needed
  • Work closely with data owners, data users and data custodians (IT) to ensure the root cause of reported data issues is understood and underlying problems as well as associated symptoms are resolved
  • Establish & maintain Data Quality Scorecards to pro-actively monitor and report on data quality across the group
  • Defining security principles associated with integrations and ensuring these are adhered to
  • Developing strategies to support the testing, reconciliation of data, data routines and outputs, integration scenarios through different environments
  • Working with other data owners and data stewards to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels

Desired Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce.com Technical or Solution Architect and the following certifications:
    • Salesforce Administrator
    • Salesforce Integration Architecture Designer
    • Salesforce Data Architecture and Management Designer
  • Salesforce integration experience with ability to assess the design trade-offs of using API-based integrations such as SOAP, REST, Bulk, Streaming, Canvas, APEX (Callouts, @future, etc.) and Lightning Connect.
  • Ability to build responsive dashboards and reports within Salesforce and experience with data visualization and BI Tools
  • Understanding of middleware and integration tools and when it may be appropriate to use them.
  • Understanding of Salesforce integration patterns, such as: Remote Process Invocation Request and Reply, Remote Process Invocation Fire and Forget, Batch Data Synchronization, Remote Call-In and under what circumstances each should be used.
  • Ability to analyze and determine when and where to use data cleaning, standardization, deduplication, and data transformation as part of data integration
  • Force.com platform experience, including the limitations of the platform (e.g. API and governor limits)
  • Data modelling and data modelling tools
  • Experience with managing Large Data Volumes (LDV), data migration strategies via ETL Tools like Informatica, proficiency in SQL
  • Integration and API experience (both with and without middleware)
  • Clear & confident technical communication skills, with the ability to communicate at multiple levels
  • Mentoring skills
