We are now seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer or a Software Engineer with a genuine interest in developing a career in Salesforce (we would help you develop the necessary skills) to join a team working across many interesting projects.

You will engage directly with global, multi-functional teams to drive strategic development and enhancement of the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management application and related Sales Enablement and Marketing Automation technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, integration with key business systems, continual business process improvement, assessment and advancement of complementary technologies, and alignment to overarching Sales & Marketing business objectives.

You will act as a Subject Matter Expert for the Salesforce technology stack; primary responsibilities include identification and documentation of business requirements, solution design and development, unit testing and peer review, and contributing to the standard and best practices for Salesforce development at Elsevier.

We would love to hear from you if you have some of the following:

• 3+ years of Salesforce/Software Development experience required
• Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder/Platform Developer I certification preferred
• Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant certification preferred
• Intermediate-level Salesforce development experience including Apex Classes/Triggers and Visualforce Pages, Lightning Components, and service-oriented architecture/web services (SOAP/REST)
• Experience with Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery), markup languages (XML and JSON), and object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and patterns
• Strong understanding of how to build and support highly scalable and reliable solutions on the Salesforce Platform
• Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage, bulkification.
• Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
• Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
• Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
  

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments.
• Complete bug fixes.
