Job Summary
The Salesforce Engineer is an integral team member within I/T collaborating to implement business processes into Salesforce to increase efficiency, improve the reliability of the system data, increase reporting capabilities, integrate marketing campaigns and improve overall usability and adoption.
The engineer will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, enterprise architects and developers to identify, innovate and deploy new business processes. This role will interact with outside vendors to integrate Salesforce with other business systems when necessary.
The Salesforce Engineer will include the role of Salesforce Administrator and work collaboratively with business and I/T staff on the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of the DDNJ Salesforce platform. While performing these roles, the Salesforce Engineer will help ensure all audit controls required for change management are adhered to.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of Salesforce.com administration tasks including creating profiles, roles, users, page layouts, email alerts and communications, data management, approvals, workflows, reports, dashboards, tasks and events
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Salesforce-related relationships, including the potential need to act as the project manager for Salesforce development projects completed through external vendors
- Create and manage custom objects, fields, formulas, analytic snapshots and reports, including development of custom reports and dashboards. Will require development of validation rules and custom workflow and approval processes.
- Ensure Salesforce data integrity, working to consistently clean data through audit processes and issue resolution
- Ensure changes in the DDNJ Salesforce site follow documented audit controls including change management, separation of duties, peer review and complete documentation
- Assist with data analysis tools and reporting vehicles to support business strategy planning and tactical programs development
- Recommend, implement, test, deploy and provide end user documentation on configuration improvements
- Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to review requirements in the Salesforce backlog, ensuring consensus on priority, effort, complexity and target completion dates as appropriate.
- Discuss opportunities for Salesforce integration to DDNJ systems and applications with enterprise architect and other I/T team members to effective share Salesforce data in an enterprise API framework program
- Collaborate with users to identify best practices and opportunities to streamline procedures
- Act in an advisory capacity to assist other associates in generating reports and/or dashboards to meet business user needs
- Special projects and duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Certifications Required
Experience Required
Minimum of two or more years of Salesforce.com or comparable CRM experience required
- Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
- Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula
- fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
- Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality
- Strong data management abilities
- A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
Required Educational Level
- Associate degree in Business or Information Technology or equivalent experience
Certifications required/preferred
o Saleforce.com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified
o Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Developer certifications preferred
