JOB SUMMARY



The Salesforce Sr. Project Manager is responsible for project planning, management, and execution of successful Salesforce projects.

What will I be doing in this job?

  • Managing projects based on repeatable standards and practices for the Salesforce system. This includes leading execution and delivery, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, to specification, within budget, and of high quality. This includes managing the project timeline, identifying project risks, tracking and measuring project status
  • Facilitating the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements by assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Analyzing scope of work, project sequencing, resource planning, time estimation, scheduling, cost estimation, risk analysis
  • Managing changes in scope throughout the project ensuring the project produces quality deliverables, and controlling the work in progress
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operational including communications, status reporting, and resource oversight
  • Preparing kickoff meetings, organizing backlogs, sprint planning, attending daily scrums, taking notes in meetings, sending status reports, collaborating with the team, reviewing design prototypes, and reviewing completed functionality
  • Customize reporting and dashboards for the M&O team, managing and maintaining third party apps such as Conga Composer and making recommendations on tools that will provide better user experiences and efficiencies
  • Staying current with Salesforce releases and corresponding documentation and providing new functionalities and solutions as needed
  • Reviewing, understanding, researching, analyzing, and proofreading the business requirements and technical designs related to the software to define testing needs and approach in order to create extensive, detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases which includes maintaining and automating test cases, test data, test scripts, test results, and test reports
  • Working cross-functionally to solve problems and implementing changes
  • Resolving or assisting in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas
  • Managing vendor communicating and escalation
  • Responding promptly to customer needs; taking a customer-centric approach to problem solving; soliciting customer feedback to improve service; responding to requests for service and assistance; meeting commitments; managing difficult or emotional customer situations; fostering relationships
  • Using consulting skills, business knowledge, and SFDC CRM experience to lead business / functional discussion with the ability to understand business issues and to clearly explain technical alternatives to senior business decision makers leveraging Salesforce platform/ offerings
  • Managing project budget and resource allocation
  • Participating in the design and/or testing phases by assisting with system and user acceptance testing
  • Responsible for effectively applying and ensuring ADHS, PMLC and SDLC methodologies standards are adhered to which also includes Salesforce coding conventions and standards

What does this job require?

  • Considerable working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Considerable knowledge of the organization’s methodologies and tools
  • Considerable knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Considerable knowledge of interrelationships among various internal & external organizational functions
  • Proficiency with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Project management and software development methodologies such as: Waterfall, DSDM, SCRUM, XP, Agile. Technical knowledge relevant to IT projects
  • Advanced knowledge of budget controls, conversant with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including: requirements solicitation, application development, logical and physical database design and networking.
  • Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, articulation, client-facing communication skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and able to deal with conflict resolution.
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and write technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability in leading team(s) to design

Qualifications?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience in project coordination and management (or equivalent experience).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Arizona State Project Management Certification.

Licenses and Certifications?

Driving is required for State Business.

  • Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).
