Description:

The Salesforce Specialist oversees the flow of information into and out of the institute’s fundraising CRM, Salesforce’s Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). They will report to the Director of Data Services. They are responsible for technical process management related to gift processing, reporting and campaign management. This position must demonstrate a fierce commitment to maintaining data integrity and to seeking ways to create efficiencies.

. Requirements:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and customizing Cato’s fundraising data funnel and reporting.
  • Maintaining data hygiene and exception reporting.
  • Setting up and maintaining campaigns and processes for gift processing - including checks, importing information from lock-box activities and online payments, processing acknowledgment letters and managing renewal campaigns.
  • Executing on ad-hoc campaigns to support development efforts.
  • Performing and directing regular data maintenance functions including removal of duplicate records.
  • Grooming and importing data using appropriate tools.
  • Responding to day-to-day user requests for support, specifically a first line of response for troubleshooting user lockouts, errors, etc.
  • Providing user training, including on-boarding for new users and for new features.
  • Identifying process improvements across Cato's systems to improve efficiency and reduce duplicate efforts.
  • Collaborating and co-managing the integration between Fundraising (Salesforce) and Digital Marketing (Hub-spot) to ensure proper data-flow between systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • College degree with two to five years’ experience in a professional office setting and one to two years’ experience in using and managing Salesforce; knowledge of Salesforce NPSP preferred.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with an emphasis on listening and problem solving.
  • Comfort with learning new systems and technology; knowledge of Apsona and marketing automation a plus.
  • Keen attention to details and a quick learner.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to work comfortably with a wide variety of people at different levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
