Role: Senior Android Engineer
Location: St Louis, Missouri
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Position Description
As a Senior Android Engineer ( 8+), you will be a key player in the definition and execution
of goals. We are looking for an accomplished and capable senior Android Engineer to join
the team! We have built our success through timely bets on emerging technology, rapid
execution and skills development. As a senior Android Engineer, you will be a liaison
between the Android engineering teams, enterprise architecture teams and customer facing
teams (like PMs, Business, Accounts, etc.) and will set technical direction for the department
by researching and recommending best practices and frameworks to keep the department
current on Android with the marketplace. You will guide the team by creating technical
designs, promote and champion best technical practices with the engineering teams, with a
focus on both tactical and strategic development of
the team. You will also perform code reviews, triage bugs and, you get to code.

Your future duties and responsibilities
You will excel in this position if:
• You're passionate about Android, and continually follow the platform's innovations.
• You're an active coder with an eye for UI and Visual Design. You have no problem coding
front-end and back-end deliverables. Exposure to iOS or other mobile platforms is a plus. •
An understanding of software development methodologies such as SOLID, TDD (including
automated unit, integration, and system testing), CI, release management, software
maintenance, and source code management.
• You're interested in working on fast-paced, Agile software development teams.
• You love the idea of working on cross-functional teams: you'll work in close quarters with
your fellow designers, QA Engineers, and Project Managers every step of the way.
• Demonstrate thought leadership by promoting new techniques, identifying growth areas
for the department, promoting Cigna and its Android capabilities in the industry by
presenting technical topics at various venues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience with tools such as Android Studio, the Android SDK and Android Tools, JUnit,
Rally & Git.
• Kotlin and Java are a must.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
