We’re looking for an all-star to join Bloomberg Industry Group. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in continued growth across our flagship products – Bloomberg Law®, Bloomberg Tax and Bloomberg Government® – through in-depth analysis of commercial strategies and visualization of key metrics in support of the CFO and other key stakeholders across the entire organization. We are looking for a driven developer with experience in a finance division who is eager to dive in and add strategic value in a diverse, fast paced, and collaborative environment.

This position is part of the Decision Support group within Finance and is responsible for helping senior Finance and Sales leadership understand business performance and market trends. This individual supports the team by building and enhancing Tableau dashboards, performing ad-hoc data analysis, and working with stakeholders to gather development requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with business and technical stakeholders to understand and refine reporting requirements.
• Write SQL queries to join data and apply business logic.
• Develop dashboards to summarize data analysis for business users.
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis to enable better understanding of market trends and business performance.
• Present findings to business users clearly and succinctly.

Job Requirements:

• Highly skilled with SQL, ideally in an Oracle environment. Able to join multiple tables and apply complex business logic.
• Highly skilled in Tableau. Able to create insightful data visualizations and dashboards. Experienced with Tableau calculations, including level of detail formulas. Familiar with best practices for dashboard design.
• Able to work with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and refine work products.
• Experience analyzing financial metrics and communicating results to senior leaders.
• Experience automating manual data processes in SQL and Tableau or a similar tool.
• Experience working in a subscription-based business is a plus
• Experience with Alteryx and Python is a plus

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with courses in business, mathematics, statistics or appropriate combination of education and experience required.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in analysis, database experience and data visualization experience required
