Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer

Location: St. Paul, MN

Duration: 6 months contract

Job Description:
Responsibilities Include

-Lead/participate in resolution of complex z/OS performance problems -Use SAS and/or MXG to develop reports for performance analysis -Provide consulting services for z/OS performance and capacity initiatives -Support and maintain ThruPut Manager to provide batch job balancing across systems -Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they become a problem -Create and maintain system configuration documentation -Build and maintain performance databases -Tune WLM to meet business objectives -Collaborate and communicate well with others -Suggest tuning setting for various systems and processes

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience -At least 7 years’ experience with mainframe technologies

Preferred Skills/Experience

Extensive experience in:

-Mainframe technologies

-JCL Batch processing

-Technical troubleshooting of mainframe performance issues -Understanding of SMF processing -Mainframe performance tuning and sizing -Statistical and data mining of performance and audit data

Subject matter expert in:

-z/OS technologies and logic

-Subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, and DB2 -SAS Programming and report generation -Knowledge of Workload Management (WLM) on z/OS -Monitoring performance of z/OS systems and tasks using tools such as RMF and Mainview -Produce reports using desktop solutions such as Excel -Understanding of mainframe hardware and components -Database processing for IMS and DB2
