Role Summary:

As a member of the Data Management Services team, the Senior Tableau Specialist role plays integral part in the planning and delivery leadership for the new technology enablement and Technology renewal projects. This role is accountable for the technology acquisition, proof of technology, implementation and upgrade of a wide range of Data and Business Intelligence Technologies. This position also plays an integral role in vendor management.

This role will be accountable to initiate, plan, build and lead project members to deliver technology infrastructures and transition to Operations.

This role reports to the Practice Manager and accountable to the Director, Data and Business Intelligence Technologies

What will you do?

• Owns technology implementation and delivery. Ensure projects are delivered on time , on budget and with required quality
• Accountable for project intake and estimation
• Work closely with the Architect and the Director, DBIS Technologies during the concept phase of project to define project delivery approach, methodology
• Accountable for the technical leadership from project initiation to implementation. Ensures all technical requirements are defined and chosen technologies meet both business and technical requirements.
• Ensure technologies delivered meets performance, reliability, recoverability requirements
• Ensures that standard and best practice for project and program management processes are applied to plan, and execute initiatives with high complexity and risk
• Lead and guide technical resources and serve as an escalation point for delivery issues
• Handles vendor engagement, contracts and management

• Creates/Enhances technology evaluation methodology and implementation processes, in concert with CMMI framework
• Successful transition of new technologies to operation
• Effectively coach/counsel others and provide feedback to improve performance

Technical Requirements and experience:

• Atleast 5 years strong technology experience specializing in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Analytics and Big Data.
• 2-4 years experience in Tableau software architecture, deployment and content development
• Experience with Sun Life organization and technology infrastructure, policy, process and procedures
• Experience in delivering new technology selection, delivery and technology renewal projects
• Experience in working with vendors, external consultants, internal technology suppliers in matrix organization
• Experience in technology evaluation methodology and ability to lead technical requirement

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
