Position: Tableau SME

Client: Internal Revenue Service

Work location: currently remote 100%. Post COVID-19: 1 to 2 days a week at IRS NCFD (Lanham, MD).

Preferably (but not required): resources with previous IRS experience.

Key Role:

Serve as a Data Engineering, Analytics and Visualization SME and work with senior government stakeholders to comprehend analytic needs, analyze data to guide development teams on data visualization and integration techniques and identify metrics, gaps to develop actionable and interactive dashboards. Gather business requirements to design, develop, and deliver interactive and innovative data visualizations using Tableau technologies. Work with the data engineering team to share data model and query needs to support analytic solutions and perform quality control procedures to ensure information accuracy in the data products.

Basic Qualifications:

· 2+ years of experience with data visualization using Tableau

· Experience with developing user interfaces or dashboards, including metrics, filters, charts, graphs, and tables

· Experience in designing rich graphic visualizations with modular design of dashboards in Tableau

· Experience with SQL to extract data from systems

· Knowledge in various reporting objects, including facts, attributes, hierarchies, filters, calculated fields, sets, groups, or parameters in Tableau

· Knowledge of chart types to use to highlight patterns in the data

· Ability to gather and analyze data and problem solve

· BA or BS degree

· Tableau Certification

Additional Qualifications:

· Experience with Tableau Catalog, Tableau Prep Builder, and Tableau Prep Conductor a plus

· Experience building reports with Business Objects, Crystal Reports is a plus

· Experience integrating with data from SAP Data Warehouse, Business Objects Universe

· Experience integrating Big Data platforms as data source for creating data visualizations

· Experience in working with Informatica Data Integration and Meta Data Management tools

· Knowledge of Tableau best practices in performance tuning and user-centric design
