Role: Network Support Engineer

Location: Mumbai

Job Functions / Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support connectivity (circuits, routers, etc.) for SMTBUSA’s global network
2. Support AWS network infrastructure (VPCs, transit, NAT & internet gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs) using best practices
3. Investigate network problems as reported by users and vendors, escalate as required and tracks problems to resolution
4. Perform circuit failover tests and participate in firmwide DR tests in a network capacity
5. Work within established configuration and change management procedures to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to network infrastructure
6. Ensure proper monitoring and alerting of all network devices and connections and analyzes utilization & trends for capacity planning
7. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
8. Participate in the budgeting and procurement processes; considering project, equipment and budget requirements
9. Provide high quality work by ensuring accuracy and seeking to continuously improve our processes and platforms by embracing new and better ways of doing things

Knowledge / Skills:

1. CCNA and CCNP certification desired
2. AWS Advanced Networking specialty (must)
3. Experience managing Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5 devices
4. Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills specifically, network security and performance analysis
5. Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions
6. 7+ years’ experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
7. 7+ years’ hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers
8. Knowledge of IT Security related systems
9. Good interpersonal skills
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
11. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
