Job description:

We are seeking a skilled SSIS ETL Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The SSIS ETL Developer will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design data integration solutions, and ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL lifecycle.
 

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target databases.
2. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather ETL requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
3. Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
4. Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability, tuning SQL queries and optimizing data transformation logic.
5. Develop and maintain documentation for ETL processes, including data mappings, transformation rules, and system dependencies.
6. Troubleshoot and debug ETL issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to resolve data integration errors.
7. Perform unit testing and integration testing of ETL processes to validate data accuracy and integrity.
8. Monitor ETL jobs and workflows, analyze job logs, and proactively address job failures or performance issues.
9. Collaborate with database administrators, data architects, and other IT teams to ensure ETL solutions align with organizational standards and best practices.
10. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data integration and ETL development, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
11. ETL Development: Creating and maintaining SSIS packages to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business requirements, and load it into target databases or data warehouses.
12. Data Transformation: Designing and implementing data transformations within SSIS packages using SQL queries, data conversion functions, and other SSIS components.
13. Performance Tuning: Optimizing the performance of SSIS packages and ETL processes to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
14. Error Handling: Implementing robust error handling and logging mechanisms within SSIS packages to capture and report errors, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
15. Integration: Collaborating with database administrators, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate SSIS solutions with existing systems and applications.
16. Documentation: Documenting SSIS packages, data flows, and ETL processes to facilitate maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an ETL developer with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
3. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL design patterns, and best practices.
4. Proficiency in SQL programming, including complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
5. Experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
6. Familiarity with data modeling principles and dimensional modeling techniques.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex ETL issues.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Experience with other ETL tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica, Talend) is a plus.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
